Episode 13 Mike’s side of the story Life in the prison was something else. My first day in prison was full of uncertain expectations. I wasn’t certain of what I was expecting to see or experience there. What I saw in prison was hell. It was a complete no man’s land where everyone was practically on their own. Life was very unbearable for me. My cellmate didn’t make life any easy in the first 7 weeks of my stay in the prison. He would either beat me or ask me to stay awake the whole night and make sure mosquito doesn’t bite him. He was one of the feared guys in the prison, hugely built with so many scares on his body. However, with time, he started liking me. Maybe because I was very obedient to him. I didn’t argue with him for once. He introduced me to his men in the prison yard as his “PA: Personal assistance” and no longer as the little rat. With his help, I could get to people outside the prison, if I had enough money, I would have been running a good business anywhere in the coun...

IF THERE IS GOD...

If there is a God…! This phrase “if there is God…” comes to some people’s mouth when they face challenges in life. They tend to question the existence of God because they were trusting and believing that God will help them in the time of their needs, but it seemed as if God is not forth coming. How do you feel when your prayer request of eight, ten years or above is yet to be answered? How do you feel after being so close to God, you still lose what you value so much in your life? The bible said in the book of Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” This is the word of the Lord to the prophet Jeremiah. God proclaimed that He has good thoughts unto us. So, matter what you are passing through, if you remain steadfast in the Lord, he won’t let you down. What is it? The word relationship is sometimes misconstrued to mean just an association between two people of the opposite sex. However, relationship is way beyond this context. It spans across many spheres of association, not just between two people of the opposite sex, but amongst two or more people of either the opposite or same sex. Relationship entails a set of ordered tuples, an interaction or association between two or more people. Relationship can be built on many spheres of life, it could be an association between:     Workers Families Friends Classmates Peer groups Lovers Siblings Criminals Organizations Etc From the above, it is obvious that one can relate at different spheres of life. But what is most important is how we relate with one another or a group of people. Relating with people or someone is not just about knowing the person and talking to them. It is so disheartening when you see an elderly man or woman working tirelessly to make ends-meet at a time when he or she should have been enjoying or living life. DEEP I heard a lovely chipping from a bird on a Paw-Paw tree. It was eating a ripe Paw-Paw from an angle that is nearly invisible to be seen from the ground level. Oh! I thought, what are you doing to this fruit? The owner will wake up each morning thinking that he/she has a nice treasure to harvest soon, sure he does, but it will obviously have little or no market value by the time he plucks it down. “Why are you making such a face?” the bird asked me as if it noticed the expression of disappointment and disapproval on my face. “Hey!
